Fascial Stretch Therapy
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)
Fascial Stretch is a scientifically proven, pain free technique to address chronic pain, limited range of motion, joint and tissue compression, and dysfunctional soft tissue. A manual stretch technique, FST focuses first on addressing the central nervous system, calming it down—most adults are overly stressed—before addressing the tissue. When the relaxation response is triggered through the technique, FST then approaches the connective tissue known as fascia. Jenna is Montana’s only Sports Specific Level 3 (both medical level 3 and fitness level 3) in the State and the longest practicing FST therapist in the Flathead Valley. If you’re looking for a stretch program that adjusts to your body, and is all about what you need specifically to help you move better, Jenna is in your corner!
FST is all about helping release sticky, tight, strained connective tissue in order to improve dysfunctional movement patterns and areas of pain. With the connective tissue released it allows muscle and joints underneath to release, decompression, and begin the process of learning how to correctly move.
A typical FST session last an hour, and depending on how your body responds, one or two small pieces of homework are often sent home to help the client’s body accept the connective tissue, muscle, or joint changes created after each session.
On average FST takes 3-5 sessions before the body has an “Aha” moment and starts to keep the gains created by a consistent recovery and fascial stretch program.
