About Experience Movement
EM is a foundational movement and recovery studio based in Whitefish, MT. The team there believes firmly in the concept that the body is meant to move, and move well! Our mission is to help people move and feel better in their day-to-day lives. To help people reconnect with their body in order to move freely through all ranges of motion accessible to them.
Dysfunction happens when we stop moving full range of motion—from injury, inactivity, or because being a responsible adult takes us out of the variety of movements children play through—and find ourselves in chronic patterns lacking movement—sitting at a desk, or driving—day in day out. Or repetitive movement patterns we don’t balance. Eventually, it turns into the activities we fear in a wild youth: groaning when we kneel down, not being able to bend down to tie our shoes, limiting the activities we love to manage pain, and starting the reluctant trudge down the road of degeneration.
It all depends on what you want: Do you want your back to hurt when you get out of a chair or out of bed? Or would you rather build a stronger golf swing, gaining you yardage in your game? Do you want to stop playing basketball, or keep stirring it up in those pick-up games without worrying about injuries? Do you want to end up skipping the family hike because you don’t want your knees to hurt the next day? Do you want to live with the cycle of in and out of Physical Therapy trying to manage pain, or be able to get down on the floor and play with your kids AND get back up again? FST and movement coaching is the combination to help you move forward no matter what your current movement capabilities are.
The great thing about movement? It can be used to heal, strengthen, and encourage stimulation in the body which creates cellular change that can reduce joint pain, anxiety, non-specific back or neck pain, PTSD, and reduce the chronic stress levels which seem to be associated with our modern lives. Essentially, correct movement can heal.
EM seeks to help you use your body, to help you create your movement…which all help move you toward a healthy and sustainable life style. EM doesn’t believe you have to trudge toward or live with limitations, and we’re here to help you get the most out of your body wherever you are in your health journey. We use a combination of stretch, mobility, and body weight to create a strong a balanced foundation. This helps prevent injury and reverse pain, preparing you for load training because you can stabilize your joints and active muscles correctly. In short, EM practices believe by the time you reach the ability to work heavy weights, your tissues and joints are able to handle the loads presented, in this way, exercise will build you up, not break your body down.

You can’t run, dance, stretch, or pummel your body into the shape and movement skill you want. You can’t hate and beat yourself healthy and pain free. But, you can clean up the foundation, and mindfully rebuild the amazing body you have, no matter where you are. It takes time and patience, but, like anything, a solid, well-built foundation always provides a beautiful work of art! And at EM, we believe moving well is truly a work of art, a language in and of itself. Movement is the language of life! Be fluent!
Services We Offer
FASCIAL STRETCH THERAPY (FST): Fascial Stretch is a scientifically proven, pain free technique to address chronic pain, limited range of motion, joint and tissue compression, and dysfunctional soft tissue.
MOVEMENT COACHING / PERSONAL TRAINING: At EM we believe personal training, should be exactly that: PERSONAL. Our programing is based around your body, and is more than just leading you from machine to machine, or counting reps.
